About Coppice Ashdown 6'3 x 9'4 Apex Wooden Greenhouse (1.91m x 2.85m)

The Coppice Ashdown Apex Wooden Greenhouse (CCAP2845X1905OBUN) measures 1.91m x 2.85m (6'3 x 9'4). That gives you a solid footprint for a mid-sized garden plot. It's enough floor space for grow bags along one side and staging on the other without feeling cramped.

The frame is built from 44mm x 44mm R4C timber framing with 12mm cladding pressure treated and finished with a microporous oil. The glazing is 3mm toughened glass throughout including the door. That combination handles wind and rain well and lets in strong natural light.

There are two opening roof vents positioned on either side of the apex to keep air moving through the growing season. Two-shelf staging is included with brackets to fix it to the frame. You can realistically grow tomatoes peppers cucumbers and tender bedding plants in a greenhouse this size.

Professional installation is included in the price the Coppice team assembles it using a clip system. The door is right-hand hinged with chrome fittings and a 3-lever mortice lock. It comes with a 1-year warranty and the wood needs retreating once a year to stay protected.

Technical Details

The frame uses 44mm x 44mm R4C section timber a robust profile that resists racking in wind. The 12mm cladding is pressure treated and coated in microporous oil which lets the wood breathe while blocking moisture. Glazing is 3mm toughened glass clipped into the frame. Toughened glass is around four times stronger than standard horticultural glass. The apex roof pitch sheds rainwater efficiently. Two roof vents on opposite sides of the ridge create a cross-flow effect when open. The clip installation system locks components together for a tight and stable structure.

Materials & Construction

The frame is 44mm x 44mm R4C pressure treated timber with 12mm cladding finished in microporous oil. All glazing including the door is 3mm toughened glass. Chrome fittings are used on the door hinges and handles. No plastic or aluminium components are used in the main structure.

Base & Foundation

No base or flooring is included. You must prepare a level concrete slab or solid paved surface before the installation team arrives. The greenhouse is designed without flooring so the ground preparation is entirely down to the buyer. Get the base level and solid before booking your installation date.

Assembly Guide

Professional installation is included in the price. The Coppice installation team assembles the greenhouse using a clip installation system. You do not need to build it yourself. No DIY assembly is required. The team brings the expertise and fixings needed. Prepare a level base beforehand so the installation can go ahead without delay.

Growing Guide

The 1.91m x 2.85m floor gives you room for two standard grow bags end to end along the base that's six tomato or pepper plants on the floor alone. The included two-shelf staging runs along one side and holds seed trays and pot plants. In spring use the staging for sowing seeds and pricking out. In summer grow tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers on the floor. In autumn and winter use the shelving to overwinter tender perennials and frost-sensitive pot plants. It's a practical size for a working kitchen garden greenhouse.

Maintenance & Care

Retreat the timber frame with a suitable wood preservative once a year. This protects against rot and fungal decay and is required to keep the 1-year warranty valid. Clean the toughened glass panels regularly to maintain light levels. Check that the two roof vents open and close freely each season.

Making the Most of the Space

At 1.91m wide the Ashdown fits along a garden fence or wall without blocking a path. You need roughly 600mm clearance on the door side to open it fully and access the vents. It cannot sit tight into a corner on the door side. The two-shelf staging means the usable bench space is generous relative to the footprint you get growing surface above and floor space below.
