Palram Canopia Plant Inn 4ft x 4ft Raised Bed Mini Greenhouse (1.18m x 1.18m)

The Palram Canopia Plant Inn (SKU 701808) is a 4ft x 4ft (1.18m x 1.18m) mini greenhouse designed for smaller gardens, patios and balconies. It is not a traditional walk-in structure. Instead it works as a raised bed greenhouse combined with under-unit storage, giving you a productive growing space without taking over your outdoor area.

The frame is rust-resistant silver aluminium with a galvanised steel perimeter base. The twin-wall and crystal-clear polycarbonate panels are shatterproof, fracture-proof and block harmful UV rays while allowing over 82% light transmission. The structure is wind resistant to 90km/hr and snow-load tested to 75kg/m².

Access is via 2 adjustable lids which can be left partially open for ventilation or fully open for working. Included are 2 x 6.5-inch-deep raised beds, 10 plant hangers and an internal water drainage system. Herbs, seedlings and tender plants all grow well here. The planters sit 28 inches off the ground making them easy to reach.

Underneath is an integral storage compartment accessed via a sliding side panel ideal for tools and compost. It is completely maintenance free and comes with an all-inclusive DIY assembly kit. A 5-year limited warranty is included.

The Plant Inn has a built-in galvanised steel perimeter base so no separate base is needed. Place it on a firm level surface such as paving slabs or compacted ground. No flooring is included and no concrete base is required. The buyer must make sure the ground is level before assembly.

The Plant Inn arrives flat packed with an all-inclusive DIY kit for self-assembly. All fixings and instructions are included. The manufacturer describes assembly as incredibly easy. It is a manageable one or two person job. No specialist tools are needed. Allow a few hours to complete the build comfortably.

The two 6.5-inch-deep raised beds sit at 28 inches off the ground making them easy to work with. Each tray will hold herbs, salad leaves or seedlings comfortably. In spring use the beds for seed sowing and plug plants. In summer grow herbs, chillies or compact tomato varieties. The 10 plant hangers add extra growing positions for trailing plants or small pots. This is not a floor-standing structure so grow bags are not relevant here. Overwintering tender plants in pots works well given the insulating twin-wall panels.

The Plant Inn is described as completely maintenance free. The aluminium frame will not rust and the polycarbonate panels will not fade or discolour. Wipe the panels down with a damp cloth periodically to keep light transmission high. Check the drainage system is clear of debris each season to keep the soil in good condition.

At 1.18m x 1.18m this unit takes up very little ground space. It suits a corner of a patio, a balcony or a small garden. Leave enough clearance on at least one side to slide open the storage panel and above to open the lids fully. It should not be pushed tight against a wall. The raised design means the footprint is small but the growing and storage capacity is well above what the floor area suggests.
