The Halls Cotswold Birdlip (V01573) is a 4ft x 4ft apex greenhouse measuring 1.47m x 1.32m with a ridge height of 2134mm. That footprint gives you a genuine walk-in growing space in a garden where every square metre counts. It comes in a black powder-coated aluminium frame with an integral base and is glazed with 3mm toughened glass as standard.

The aluminium framework sits on a robust integral base and is completely maintenance-free. The 3mm toughened glass is far stronger than standard horticultural glass. The apex roof sheds rain efficiently and the integral guttering system includes secure gutter clips and 40mm downpipes compatible with standard plumbing parts.

One opening roof vent keeps air moving and maintains growing conditions. No staging is included but a 400mm wide rustproof aluminium staging unit is available separately. The high eaves at 1600mm give you real headroom for tall crops like tomatoes and climbing plants. You can realistically grow tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and overwinter tender plants in this size.

The Zero Threshold™ sliding double door system has no trip bar and locks with a key. Backed by a 12-year frame guarantee and designed and manufactured in the UK by Halls. Available in black, green or silver.

The Birdlip uses an extruded aluminium frame with an integral base that locks the structure square and provides a fixing perimeter without a separate ground frame. The apex roof pitch sheds rainwater into the integral aluminium guttering. Glazing bars hold 3mm toughened glass panes which are clipped rather than puttied in. The Zero Threshold™ sliding door runs on a top-hung track with no bottom rail, removing the trip hazard and preventing the door binding. The single roof vent is manually operated and can be upgraded with an automatic temperature-sensitive opener.

The frame is extruded aluminium finished in black powder coat with a matching integral aluminium base. Glazing is 3mm toughened glass as standard. An upgrade to 6mm twin wall polycarbonate is available at no extra cost. All aluminium components are described as rustproof and maintenance-free.

No floor is supplied. The greenhouse must sit on a firm, level surface such as a concrete slab or solid paving cut to the 1.47m x 1.32m footprint. The integral aluminium base frame provides the structural perimeter. You must prepare and level the base yourself before assembly. No flooring is included.

The greenhouse arrives flat packed with clear assembly instructions included. Self-assembly is required. No assembly time estimate is given by the manufacturer but a two-person build is advisable for handling the frame sections and glazing safely. A professional installation service is available at extra cost if preferred. All fixings are supplied.

The 1.47m x 1.32m floor gives you roughly 1.95 square metres of growing space. You can fit two standard grow bags on the floor with room for a path alongside. That supports four to six tomato or pepper plants. On optional 400mm wide staging you can line up seed trays and pot plants in spring. In summer use the floor for cucumbers and the staging for herbs. In autumn move tender perennials and overwintering cuttings inside before the first frost.

The aluminium frame and integral base are completely maintenance-free and need no painting or retreatment. Clean the toughened glass panes with warm soapy water to maintain light transmission. Check the roof vent opens freely each season. The 40mm downpipes should be cleared of debris to keep the guttering flowing.

At 1.47m x 1.32m this greenhouse fits into a corner of a small garden or against a boundary. Allow roughly 600mm clearance on the door side to open the sliding doors fully and access the roof vent. The sliding door design means no swing clearance is needed. The high eaves maximise usable internal height without increasing the footprint.
