Halls 6ft x 4ft Aluminium Frame Polycarbonate Greenhouse (1.92m x 1.32m)

The Halls 6x4 polycarbonate greenhouse (SKU 70172) gives you a 1.92m x 1.32m footprint that's roughly 2.5 square metres of growing space. Small enough for a compact garden but big enough to grow tomatoes, peppers and seedlings from early spring through to autumn.

The frame is robust aluminium throughout. Glazing is UV-stabilised 4mm twin-wall clear polycarbonate it won't discolour or fade and delivers a solid mix of natural light, insulation and safety. The apex roof sheds rain effectively and the structure measures 1879mm x 1928mm x 1326mm overall.

Air circulation comes from a single opening roof vent on the apex. The smooth-action sliding door can also be left open to boost airflow on warm days. No staging is included but the floor space suits two standard grow bags side by side. Tomatoes, cucumbers, chillies and overwintering tender plants all work well here.

Glazing is 4mm twin-wall polycarbonate which traps a layer of air between its two skins for insulation. The UV-stabilised coating prevents yellowing over time. The apex roof pitch sheds rain quickly and houses a single manually operated vent at the ridge the highest point where heat naturally collects. The integrated aluminium guttering is fixed to the eaves and channels water to a downpipe for collection.

No base or floor is included. The greenhouse must sit on a firm level surface a concrete slab or level paving is recommended. A Halls 4x6 steel base is available as an optional extra but can only be ordered at the same time as the greenhouse. You will need to prepare the ground yourself before delivery.

This greenhouse arrives flat-packed for DIY assembly. Two people are strongly recommended one person can manage some stages but fitting the glazing panels and frame sections is much easier with a helper. Allow a full day. The 1.93m x 1.33m floor fits two standard grow bags side by side that's six tomato or pepper plants at floor level. Add a staging bench along one side and you gain space for seed trays and pot-grown cucumbers or chillies. In spring use it for sowing seeds and hardening off bedding plants. Summer suits tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. In autumn clear the floor and use it to overwinter tender perennials, dahlia tubers and citrus plants that can't survive frost outside.

The aluminium frame needs no painting or annual treatment. Clean the polycarbonate panels with warm soapy water once or twice a year to keep light levels high. Clear the integrated guttering of leaves and debris each autumn. Check the roof vent opens and closes freely each spring.

At 1.93m x 1.33m this greenhouse fits into a corner or against a fence with minimal clearance needed allow around 600mm on the door side for the sliding door to operate. The sliding door itself is a real advantage in tight spots as it needs no swing clearance. The apex roof keeps the footprint small while still giving 1950mm of ridge height.
