About Forest Victorian Walkaround Greenhouse 3ft x 4ft (0.9 x 1.2m)

The Forest Victorian Walkaround Greenhouse (WRGHHD) is a 3ft x 4ft (0.9 x 1.2m) timber apex greenhouse with a footprint of just 900mm x 1200mm. That is small enough for a courtyard or compact garden yet still gives you real growing space with removable slatted staging and room for two grow bag trays on the floor.

The frame is built from pressure-treated timber with 45x45mm sections and carries a 15-year anti-rot guarantee no retreatment needed. The smooth-planed finish looks clean and the PEFC-certified timber comes from sustainably managed forests. Glazing is 2mm styrene which is virtually unbreakable and safer than standard glass in a small space.

Four doors with latches can be hung in different positions to control access width and suit your garden layout. Opening window vents regulate temperature without you needing to enter the greenhouse. An auto vent upgrade is available separately. The removable slatted staging gives you bench space for seed trays and pot plants.

Four doors and a tiny footprint make this one of the most practical small greenhouses available. Free delivery to most UK addresses. No floor is included so a prepared base is needed.

Technical Details

The frame uses 45x45mm pressure-treated timber sections which give a solid rigid structure without excessive weight. The apex roof sheds rain efficiently and adds internal headroom up to a 2130mm ridge. Glazing is 2mm styrene lighter than glass and resistant to impact. The four doors act as large ventilation panels when open and the opening window vents provide airflow control at the top of the structure where heat builds up. The pressure treatment penetrates the timber to resist rot from the inside out rather than just coating the surface.

Materials & Construction

The frame is pressure-treated softwood timber in 45x45mm sections sourced from PEFC-certified forests. The glazing and roof panels are 2mm styrene a lightweight impact-resistant plastic. The smooth-planed finish is natural timber with no paint or stain applied.

Base & Foundation

No floor is included with this greenhouse. You must prepare a level solid base a concrete slab or level paving cut to 900mm x 1200mm is suitable. The base must be flat and square before assembly begins. You are responsible for preparing the ground yourself before delivery.

Assembly Guide

This greenhouse arrives flat packed with all fixings and instructions included. Assembly is described as straightforward. Two people are strongly recommended to hold panels in position while the frame is bolted together. Allow a full day for the job. No tools are specified but standard hand tools will be needed. Professional installation is available as an add-on service.

Growing Guide

The floor area is 0.9m x 1.2m. Two grow bag trays fit on the floor that is enough for six tomato or pepper plants. The removable slatted staging gives bench space above for seed trays and small pots. In spring use the staging for sowing seeds and pricking out seedlings. In summer remove the staging on one side to stand grow bags on the floor for tomatoes or cucumbers. In autumn use the bench space to overwinter tender perennials and pot-grown plants that cannot survive frost outside.

Maintenance & Care

The pressure-treated frame needs no retreatment. Wipe styrene glazing down each spring with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Check door latches move freely each season. Clear debris from around the base regularly to stop moisture sitting against the timber. These steps will help protect the structure across the 15-year guarantee period.

Making the Most of the Space

The 900mm x 1200mm footprint fits in most corners or along a fence line. You need at least 350mm clearance in front of whichever door position you choose. The four doors can be rehung to open away from a wall or fence. Despite the small floor area the staging doubles your usable growing surface so you get bench space and floor space from a very compact structure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes it does the greenhouse has no floor included so you need a level solid base such as a concrete slab or paving slabs cut to 900mm x 1200mm. The base must be flat and square or the frame will not sit correctly.
Assembly is described as straightforward and all fixings and instructions are included in the pack. Two people are recommended to hold panels steady while bolting the frame together and most buyers should allow a full day for the job.
There are opening window vents that allow temperature regulation inside the greenhouse. An auto vent upgrade is available separately which opens and closes automatically at a set temperature.
Styrene is virtually unbreakable and is considered safer than conventional glass glazing in a garden setting. It will not shatter into sharp shards if struck which makes it a sensible choice in a family garden.
The four doors can be hung in various positions to suit the orientation of your garden so you can adapt access to your layout. You will still need clearance on at least one side to open a door fully the door width is 350mm so allow for that when positioning.
The pressure-treated timber frame is built to last outdoors year round and the 15-year anti-rot guarantee covers the structure. The 2mm styrene glazing offers basic insulation but for overwintering tender plants in cold UK winters you may want to add bubble wrap insulation inside.
The guarantee covers the pressure-treated timber against rot for 15 years from purchase and no additional treatment is required by the owner. Keep records of your purchase date and check with Forest Garden for the full terms of the guarantee.
The pressure-treated frame needs no retreatment but it is good practice to wipe down the styrene glazing each spring with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Check that door latches move freely and that any debris is cleared from around the base to prevent moisture build-up.
