The Palram Canopia Hybrid 6x6 polycarbonate greenhouse (SKU 701617) measures 1.85m x 1.86m that's a 3.44m² footprint. For a compact garden that's a serious amount of growing space. The rust-resistant aluminium frame sits on a galvanised steel perimeter base and the whole structure is tested to handle winds of 90km/hr and snow loads of 75kg/m².

The frame is aluminium with UV-treated polycarbonate panels throughout. The 4mm twin-wall polycarbonate roof lets through 82% of light while the crystal-clear 0.7mm side panels hit 90% light transmission. Both panel types are shatterproof, fracture-proof and UV-protected. Palram's Fine Shield Technology™ means panels won't discolour or fade.

There is one manually-opened roof vent for airflow. No staging is included but compatible Palram Canopia shelves are sold separately. The 6x6 footprint fits two grow bags on the floor with room for pots alongside them. Tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and overwintering tender plants all work well here.

It's completely maintenance free and backed by a 5-year limited warranty. Pre-cut panels slide into place for straightforward DIY assembly. The door opens left or right and has a lockable handle padlock not included. A solid level base is required but not supplied.

No base or floor is supplied. The greenhouse must be fixed to a solid level base a concrete slab or paved area is recommended. You need to prepare and lay this yourself before assembly begins. The galvanised steel perimeter base sits on top of your prepared surface and the structure is bolted down to it.

Panels are pre-cut with uniform profiles and slide into place no cutting required. It is a flat-pack DIY assembly and two people are strongly recommended. Fixings and instructions are supplied. Expect the job to take a full day for two people working at a steady pace. An installation service is available if you prefer not to self-assemble.

The 1.85m x 1.86m floor fits two standard grow bags side by side with space for pots along the sides. That gives you six to eight tomato or pepper plants on the floor. In spring use the floor space for seed trays and propagation. Add a Palram Canopia shelf or workbench to double your usable surface. In summer run tomatoes, cucumbers and chillies. In winter use the space to overwinter tender plants add the optional fan heater to keep frost at bay.

The polycarbonate panels and aluminium frame are stated as completely maintenance free. Wipe panels down with warm soapy water to keep light transmission high. Check the roof vent opens and closes freely each season. Clear the integrated gutters of debris in autumn to keep water flowing. No annual retreatment of the frame is needed.

At 1.85m x 1.86m this greenhouse suits a compact garden well. Sit it along a fence or wall leaving at least 600mm clearance in front of the door. The door opens left or right so you can adapt to your layout. The apex roof sheds rain without needing extra clearance above.
