What size greenhouse do I need for my garden?
A small 6x4ft greenhouse suits a patio or a modest border and holds a couple of growbags plus staging. If you want room to walk round a bench and grow tomatoes and cucumbers together, look at 8x6ft or larger. Measure your plot and leave space to open the door fully.
Which greenhouse material should I choose?
Polycarbonate is light, tough and a safer choice around children, though it lets in slightly less light. Horticultural glass is the traditional option and gives excellent clarity at a lower price than toughened glass. Toughened glass costs more but resists breakage and hail damage best.
How long does delivery usually take?
Times vary by retailer, but most greenhouses arrive within 3–10 working days. Larger walk-in models and made-to-order timber-frame builds can take longer. The retailer will normally contact you to arrange a delivery slot.
Can I put a greenhouse up myself?
Most aluminium-frame polycarbonate greenhouses are a weekend job for two people with basic tools. Glass models take longer and need care handling the panes. A solid, level base makes assembly far easier, so it pays to prepare that first.
Do I need planning permission for a greenhouse?
Usually not. A domestic greenhouse normally counts as permitted development provided it stays within garden coverage limits and reasonable height rules. Listed buildings and conservation areas follow stricter rules, so check with your council before you order.
Do you sell greenhouses directly?
No — we are a comparison and listing website. When you click through to buy, you go to the retailer's own site to complete the order. That means you keep the retailer's guarantee, returns policy and customer service.
